If you’re interested in “innovation metrics” don’t miss the “IIIP Innovation Confidence Index” recently released by the Institute for Innovation & Information Productivity.

The Innovation Confidence Index, itself an innovation on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) annual survey, measures how receptive countries are to new products and services, how confident they are that new products and services will have a positive impact on their lives, and how likley they are to purchasing new products and services in the future.

As the Department of Commerce report demonstrates, innovation is a complex concept to define and measure, and if we can define it and measure, we certainly can’t change it.

    Executive Director, IIIP
